Patiala Heritage Festival-230 dogs from 40 breeds from pan India participated in Patiala Kennel Club’s Dog Show

58th,  59th  All Breed Championship Dog Shows during the ongoing Patiala Heritage festival 2023, in association with Patiala Kennel Club was held today on  Sunday the 15th day of January 2023 at Raja Bhalendra Singh Stadium (Polo Grounds) Patiala.

Patiala Kennel Club has been evdeavoring to keep alive the old tradition of the princely city of Patiala for its love for dogs. It was in this part of the country the first The Northern India Kennel Association was formed in 1926, which was later changed into the Kennel club of India. His Highness Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala and Maharaja of Jind were the only Indian Vice Presidents while Lord Irwin had been its Presidents. In the inaugural ‘Patiala Championship Dog Show 1927’ His Highness  Maharaja Bhupinder Singh  of Patiala had showed his number of dogs of different breeds.

Patiala Heritage Festival-230 dogs from 40 breeds from pan India participated in Patiala Kennel Club’s Dog Show which was judged by Mukul Vaid and Shyam Mehta from Delhi.

Total 230 Dogs in 40 breed participated in these shows. The Exhibitors from far of places like Jammu , UP, Delhi, Haryana,  HP, Maharashtra, MP, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jharkhand,   and other parts of the country  participated in these shows.

A large number  of  German Shepherd Dog (26),Labrador (20), Rottweiler (11), Golden Retriever (20), Beagle (12) participated in these  shows.

Three Great Dane in black color came after a long time .English Pointer, King Cavaliers Charles spaniel, Jack Russel Terrier, Barnese Mountain Dog, Maltese breeds participated first time in Patiala Shows.

Douge DeBordeaux, Cane Corso,  Shih Tzu,  Samoyed and Siberian Huskywere the main attraction of the show.

These shows provided an opportunity to watch exotic breeds of dogs.  The spectators were amazed to see some exotic & rare breeds. Kids were enjoyed by watching the smallest and the largest breeds  of canine world. People from all walks of life thronged the Show in large number

A memorable Souvenir of the Show was also released on this occasion.

3rd best in show – Rottweiler of Milan Kaler from Nangal

Best puppy in show- Akita of Sumit sinder from Karnal

Best in show Siberian Husky of Jai Makkar from Ludhiana

2nd best in show Rottweiler of Sikander Singh from Panchkula

3 rd Best in Show GSD of Nav Nijjer of Amritsar

Best puppy in show- Beagle of Bhupinder Singh from Mumbai
