Patiala police booked 2 businessman’s for doing business in curfew

SSP Patiala Mandeep singh Sidhu informed that a letter was received from Civil Surgeon Patiala with copy to DC Patiala and a preliminary inquiry was conducted by Police Station Kotwali.
On the basis of that An FIR number 97 dated 22/04/2020 has been registered under section 188 (Disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant),269 (Negligently doing any act known to be likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life) ,271 IPC (Knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule)nand 51 of Disaster Management Act (obstructs any officer or employee of the Central Government or the State Government or District Authority in the discharge of his functions) at Police Station Kotwali Patiala against
1.Krishan Kumar Gaba &
- Krishan Kumar Bansal along with some unknown persons.
Who, even after the imposition of curfew and lockdown, due to coronavirus pandemic, violated the directions and orders issued by administration and kept on doing their businesses.
It is learnt that they had travelled at many places in Patiala and even outside. Further, they became positive with covid 19 and because of their irresponsible act, many others came in the grip of this epidemic.
It has been learnt that most of these positive patients had brazenly violated the curfew and visited many cities. . Except two, the rest of the cases in Patiala district are linked to a langar committee. A book trader, a social worker and two businessmen, all positive, were associated with the said committee.
Patiala police booked 2 businessman’s for doing business in curfew. Therefore, the above mentioned FIR was registered against them. Thorough Investigation of the case is being done for further n/action.
