Patiala to host Third Military Literature Festival in February ; event poster released

The third Military Literature Festival will be organized at Khalsa College, Patiala, on February 16, 2025 as part of the Patiala Heritage Festival. The official poster for the event was released by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Chetinder Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav, Brigadier Advitya Madan, ADC (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon, and PPSC Secretary Charanjit Singh. The officials also finalized the schedule for the festival during a meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav stated that Patiala is hosting the Military Literature Festival for the third consecutive time, following Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of organizing such events in every district. She invited residents and students to participate in large numbers, emphasizing that entry to the festival will be free.

She said that the festival will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph near YPS Chowk, followed by a Braveheart Motorcycle Rally from Polo Ground to Khalsa College.

Dr Preeti Yadav said that several more attractions have been planned for visitors, including Live Display of Military Equipment – Showcasing army tanks, war gear, and defense technology. Martial Arts & Cultural Performances – Featuring Gatka, martial dances, equestrian displays, and a warrior band performance. Philately & Heritage Exhibition, Displaying rare postage stamps, antiques, and historical artifacts. Career Counseling Booths;  Providing guidance on recruitment in the Army, ITBP, and Police. Food Courts; Offering a variety of traditional and local delicacies.
