Patiala update-another day with large number of Covid 19 cases reported

As per civil surgeon Patiala, Dr Harish Malhotra, today again 30 cases of Covid 19 were reported in Patiala district.

Out of these 30, 18 cases were reported from Patiala local, 8 cases from Samana, 4 cases from villages and 1 case each from Rajpura and Nabha. Out of these, 18 cases were found in contact tracing.

Due to more cases reported from Top Khanna Mour and Ananad Nagar extension in Patiala,the district administration declared the Top Khana Mour and two lanes of Anand Nagar extension area as “Micro Containment “ .

A Top Khanna Mour resident, aged 38-year-old man, a 60-year-old man, a 30-year-old man, a 55-year-old woman, a 55-year-old man, a 52-year-old woman from Gurbakhsh Colony, an 18-year-old girl and 19 year old youth, 78 year old woman living in Anand Nagar Extension A, 18 year old girl living in Bajwa Colony, 7 year old girl living in Anand Nagar A,a 30-year-old woman from Bishan Nagar, a 16-year-old resident of Malkian Street, Nabha, a 28-year-old man from Anand Colony, Samana, a 40-year-old man from Machhihata, a 34-year-old man from Malkana Patti, a 33-year-old man from Varach Colony, village Kahngarh Bhutan. A 52-year-old man from Samana has tested positive and has been found to be in close contact with cases.

A 50-year-old man from village Badshahpur Kaleke, a 36-year-old man from Guru Tegh Bahadur Colony Samana, a 51-year-old man from New Nurpura and a 30-year-old woman from Bishan Nagar, Patiala also came to the OPD. Samples taken for Covid are found to be positive. In addition, a 54-year-old man from Upkar Nagar, a 23-year-old woman from Bhogla Road Guru Angaddev Colony, Rajpura, a frontline worker from Gurdeep Colony, Patiala and a 45-year-old frontline worker were also admitted to the hospital due to flu type symptoms. A 25-year-old pregnant woman from village Dharmaheri, Tehsil Patiala, a 28-year-old resident of Tej Colony, Samana and a 32-year-old pregnant woman from Ward No. 21 of Samana also came to the hospital for their checkup.

Apart from this, a 60-year-old resident of village Okanasu who was admitted in Sector 32 Chandigarh and a 55-year-old woman from Azad Nagar who was admitted to the hospital for surgery has also tested positive. Malhotra said that these positive cases were being shifted to the isolation facility of Covid Care Center / Home Isolation / Hospital as per the new guidelines and samples were being taken after contact tracing.
