Patiala’s Archer Sangampreet selected in Asian Games
Patiala-It is a matter of great pride for Khalsa College, Patiala that Sangampreet Singh Bisla, a student of B.A. Honours in English has been selected in the archery team for Asian Games to be held at Jakarta, Indonesia from 18th August, 2018 to 2nd September, 2018. This student has also brought laurels to the college and the state by representing India in the World Cup.
Gobind Singh Longowal, President, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee expressed his ecstasy on Sangampreet Singh Bisla’s monumental feat and added that Khalsa College, Patiala is progressing not only in the field of academics but also sports. He said that this achievement is the outcome of the player’s hard work, dedication and determination along with his coach Jiwanjot Singh Teja’s able guidance. He also congratulated Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college and Dr. Gursharan Singh Gill, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
Surjit Singh Rakhra, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body emphasized that sports play a pivotal role in the overall personality development of the students.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college while applauding the success of the player and his coach, said that Sangampreet Singh Bisla will be equipped with a high-tech international level archery kit from the college fund.
