PCS Mains Exams Update: 12 Centres Established in Patiala; IAS and PCS officers deputed as observers-PPSC

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), Patiala is fully geared up to conduct the PCS (Executive Branch) Main Examination from April 1 to April 10, 2026.
Disclosing details, PPSC Secretary Charanjit Singh informed that under the leadership of PPSC Chairman Major General (Retd.) Vinayak Saini, all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth, transparent and fair conduct of the examination. A total of 12 examination centres have been established across Patiala City.
He further stated that the examination will be conducted in the afternoon session on all scheduled days. To maintain strict supervision and transparency, senior IAS and PCS officers have been deputed as observers at each examination centre.
Elaborating on the arrangements, Charanjit Singh said that biometric verification systems have been installed at every centre to ensure accurate identification of candidates. Additionally, jammers have been deployed to prevent the use of any electronic devices during the examination.

The Secretary added that comprehensive security and traffic management arrangements have been made by the Patiala Police to facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination.
He further informed that the recruitment drive aims to fill 331 vacancies of PCS Executive Branch and allied posts in various departments of the Punjab Government. Approximately 4,200 candidates, who have qualified the preliminary examination, will be appearing in the main examination.
