PEDA Holds Training Camp on Energy Conservation
Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has organized two day training workshop at the Ambuja Cement Factory, Malout Road, Bathinda.
Chief guest at the seminar was SE Powercom Deepak Bansal. Speaking at the event he said that the buildings should be constructed as per the norms laid in Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC).
The Bathinda manager PEDA Makhan Lal stated that officers from various municipal bodies, public works department, development authorities, architects, draughtsmen, engineers, builders, developers etc were told about various ways to be put in use to minimize energy consumption.
He talked about the notification released for implementation of Punjab ECBC and mentioned that this code will be mandatory for all the commercial buildings while approval of building plans and implementation of Punjab ECBC in Municipal Building Bye-Laws.He stated that ensuring limited energy usage not only means saving for today but for tomorrow as well. He said that the aim of seminar was to tell key stake holders about the ways and importance of conserving energy so that the same could percolate down to the ground level. PEDA officer said that construction of energy efficient buildings results reduction in electrical demand by 30-40% in the buildings.
Ar. Anmol Pupneja, Chairman, IIA Bathinda sub-centre elaborated about the sustainable approached which should be adopted by one during the building design & construction. Vineet Garg, Council of Engineers & Valuers threw light on requirements of best construction practices needed to be implemented.
