Pending mutation (Inteqal) cases-ACS (Revenue) issues strict instructions to DCs, SDMs, DROs

Anurag Verma, IAS, Punjab government additional chief secretary (Revenue) has instructed the deputy commissioners (DCs), sub divisional magistrates (SDMs), district revenue officers (DROs), Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars to start a special campaign for the immediate settlement of pending mutation cases.
Verma said as per the instructions of the government, it was mandatory to decide on dispute-free mutations within 45 days. He said a special campaign would be launched in this regard and all such cases which are non disputed would be disposed of within a month.
He instructed the revenue officials after December 31, if any dispute-free mutation was found pending in any tehsil/sub-tehsil beyond 45 days, strict action would be taken against the officer or employee concerned.
Verma further added in his letter that it had come to the notice of the department that despite the clear instructions of the government, many mutations were pending for more than 45 days. Some mutations were pending for more than a year.
