Today Punjab Institute of management and technology, Mandigobindgarh organized a workshop on “Goods and Service Tax” in its  campus. The main objective of organizing this conference was to deliberate on the changing paradigm in

Indirect taxation regime and to provide participants with a detailed understanding, implementation, valuation and other practical aspects of Goods and Service Tax.

CMA Rakesh Bhalla and CMA Anil Sharma were the keynote speakers of this workshop  along with CMA  Rakesh Dhiman. During their speech they discussed the issues related to the overall view of Goods and Service Tax, CGST Act, SGCT Act, IGST Act, 2017 Levy of GST, Composite Scheme, Valuation, Input tax credit, Block Credits, ISD, meaning of supply, Accounts, Invoices, Returns, Payments of GST, impact of GST on business.

 

Anil Kumar Agrawal (President GESWT , Mandigobindgarh ), Piara Singh Kalsi (Member PIMT Governing Council ) and Anirudh Kumar Joshi ( Principal Gobindgarh Public School , Mandigobindgarh) were also present in this workshop. Many Industrialists, businessmen, accountants , academicians and researchers attended this workshop and got  knowledge about GST. Certificates weregiven to the participants in the closing ceremony.

Dr Manisha Gupta ( Director PIMT) said that India is witnessing a shift in its indirect taxation system. One of the major challenges is to understand the shift so as to respond and prepare ourselves for the professional engagements. The workshop furnished  a platform for professionals, policy-makers, entrepreneurs, academicians and researchers where they discussed  the issues on the Goods and Service Tax.
