Police DAV Public School celebrated Baisakhi , Ambedkar Jayanti with great enthusiasm

The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with full enthusiasm in Police DAV Public School, Patiala, today .This festival is one of the major festivals of Punjab and it is celebrated on the occasion of harvesting . A special assembly was organised by Pansy house in which students of the house and primary wing participated enthusiastically.
The assembly started with prayers ,Gayatri Mantra and students presented poems, dance performances highlighting the importance of this holy festival. Gurmanpreet Singh of class 9th delivered a speech highlighting the reason for celebrating the holy festival of Baisakhi and its importance .The students of primary wing looked very attractive as they were dressed in Punjabi attire.
Apart from this Ambedkar Jayanti was also celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar .Navjot Kaur of class 7th delivered a speech highlighting the life struggle of Bhimrao Ambedkar . He was the constitution maker of our free country and dedicated his whole life for the service of the country.
On this day, tributes were paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Japjeet of class 7th gave speech on highlighting the incident that shamed humanity on April 13, 1919 and remembered the brave people who lost their lives in it.
School principal, Mohit Chug gave a message to all the students that they should always be ready to serve the country by choosing the path of truth, honesty and non violence. He congratulated the teachers and students on Baisakhi and thanked them.
