Police DAV School celebrated Independence Day
Patiala-15 August is a very special day in the history of India. On this day our country came into existence after getting freedom from the British rule.
To mark this day a special assembly was organized in Police DAV Public school, Patiala. The students presented a colourful programme. The whole campus was decorated with national flags and balloons, that filled the ambience with patriotism. The school principal, Mrs. Meena Thapar hoisted the national flag followed by the national anthem. Students also raised slogans and were full of patriotic zeal.
The tiny tots were dressed as leaders who sacrificed their lives for their motherland. They looked stunning in their attires. The school choir sang patriotic songs that mesmerized everyone. Yogita of class 9 delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the day. Poems were also recited by students of classes 6 to 8 in favour of their country and its proud aspects. Then the senior students presented Bhangra , that forced everyone to tap their feet. Later sweets were also distributed.
The programme concluded with the speech by Principal Meena Thapar. She extended greetings to students and staff on this auspicious day and urged everyone to contribute in the progress of the nation.
