Postal department to celebrate National Postal Week with theme “Together for Trust”- Prabhat Goyal

Superintendent Post Offices , Patiala Division , Patiala Prabhat Goyal intimated the press that Department of Posts is going to celebrate “National Postal week” from 9^th October, 2023 to 13^th October, 2023. National Postal week commences with World Post Day on 9^th October every year which is the anniversary of the establishment of Universal Postal Union on 9^th October, 1874. This year the theme for the World Post Day is “Together for Trust”

Goyal  informed the press that various activities had been planned by Patiala Division  throughout the National Postal Week.

10^th October, 2023 will be celebrated as Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas and on this day Dak Choupal (Dak Community Development Program) will be organized by Patiala Division . Dak Choupal is a comprehensive community program through which different Postal Services will be provided to the Public in a single camp. In the Dak Choupal, public will be facilitated for opening Saving Bank Accounts, Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts, Mahila Samman Certificates, procuring Postal Life Insurance policies and for Aadhar Enrolment and Updation. All these facilities and services will be provided under one umbrella in a rural/remote area.

11^th October, 2023 will be celebrated as Philately Day and seminars & quiz activities will be organized at schools on the theme “Digital India for New India.”

12^th October, 2023 will be celebrated as Mails & Parcel Day. Customer Meets for Bulk & Retail customers will be organized . Customers will be informed about the new initiatives taken under various Parcel & Mail services of the Department. They will be apprised of various facilities of Parcel Tracker for bulk customers viz. End to End tracking, Expected date of delivery, Return Pick up, COD facility, Click and book service, OTP based delivery etc.

13^th October, 2023 will be celebrated as “Antyodaya Diwas”. Awareness camps will be organized in rural/remote areas & also in urban slums for Aadhaar enrollment & updation. People will also be made aware about various Social Security Schemes like Jan Suraksha Schemes, Aadhaar Enabled Payment Service, Social Security Pension, Direct Benefit Transfer etc.

 

Prabhat  Goyal also intimated that Patiala Division was continuously taking various steps for making its mark in the socio-economic development of the country. For conveyance of International Articles booked in Post Offices of Patiala and Fatehgarh sahib , a daily special Mail Vehicle has been started from Ludhiana to Delhi Foreign Post. As a result of this initiative, revenue from International Articles in Patiala Division has shown a handsome growth. Attractive packaging facilities for National & international articles have been provided by Patiala Head Post Office and Rajpura Head Post office as per Public demand.

During Rakhi season, Patiala Postal Division supplied special Rakhi envelopes & boxes for safe and secure transmission of Rakhis in India and abroad. Also special arrangements were made  for expeditious delivery of Rakhi . Through Bhai Ki kalai Par Dakghar ke Whatsapp se bheje Rakhi intiative,Rakhis was made available to general Public in any parts of the world by JUST A CLICK on WHATSAPP.

He also informed the Press that 8 Dedicated  Aadhaar Centers namely Patiala Ho , Rajpura HO, Samana, Nabha, Mandigobindgarh , Rajpura Township , Sirhind and bassi   have been set up for Aadhaar enrolment and updation.  Dak Niryat Kendras at Patiala HO and Rajpura HO have been set up to provide single window facility to exporters to book their articles and to complete all formalities from a single counter in the Post Office.

Also 02 Post Office Passport Sewa Kendras have been established in Patiala and Bassi & more than 10000 passport applications had been processed within a period of 5 months i.e. April 2023 to August 2023. Patiala Postal Division has around  live 5.50 Lacs POSB accounts , more than 10000 Postal Life Insurance Policies & Rural Postal Life Insurance policies.
