Power employees across the country mark December 13 as “Anti-Privatization Day”

On the call of National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE), all the power employees and engineers of all the power utilities  across the country observed Anti-Privatization Day today and held meetings  at utility headquarters and projects and  registered their protest against privatization in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh.

Anti- privatisation Day Protest Meetings Today at Patiala  PSPCL Head office by PSEB Engineers Association, Join Forum and many other employee unions/ associations. The meeting was addressed by Padamjit Singh Chief Patron All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) and others.

AIPEF  Chairman Shailendra Dubey  in Lucknow and Secretary General P Ratnakar Rao in Hyderabad  accused the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation management of misleading the employees and creating an atmosphere of fear and industrial unrest in the energy corporations.

Protest Meetings against  electricity privatization in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh were held  in places like Lucknow , Varanasi Agra, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Vijayawada, Guwahati, Nagpur, Raipur, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Shimla, Jammu, Srinagar, Dehradun, Patiala, Ranchi, informed V K Gupta.

Shailendra Dubey said that the power employees and engineers of Uttar Pradesh are continuously engaged in improving the electricity system and making the OTS scheme starting from December 15 successful, but it is not known why the Power Corporation management has mysteriously decided to sell electricity distribution in 42 districts of the state.

This time too, there is a conspiracy to sell assets worth billions of rupees of Purvanchal and Dakshinanchal Electricity Distribution Corporations at throwaway prices without valuing the assets.

Power employees across the country mark December 13 as “Anti-Privatization Day”. On what basis will the undoubtedly valuable land of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam worth billions of rupees be handed over to private houses for just one rupee? This is a public asset. Due to all these things, power employees and consumers are very upset and agitated.
