After the passing of the time given to the Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) management, PSEB Engineers Association has once again resumed their protest, after the powercom management fails to address their demands.
As per their announced plan, today Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) and Punjab state transmission corporation limited (PSTCL) engineers quit their official What’s app groups and switched off their official mobile numbers, after the official working hours i.e after 5 PM, in protest against the non-fulfilment of their demands.
As per PSEBEA plan, “all engineers will exit the Official WhatsApp Groups on 05/08/2021 at 11AM. On 10/08/2021 11AM onwards official SIMs will be collected by all regions. On 11/08/2021 collected SIMs will be handed over to management” said power engineer spokesperson.
As per the PSEB engineers’ association plan, today regional teams visited/called each and every engineer to ensure that all engineers exit official WhatsApp groups.
As per the spokesperson of the association,” the association acknowledges that during the critical summer period, quality and uninterrupted power supply is the primary objective of all stakeholders and accordingly as per the positive assurance of Punjab Govt. and PSPCL management toward the issues of power engineers, the Extended Executive Committee of the Association in its meeting held on 08/07/2021 had decided to postpone all agitation programmes upto 30/07/2021.
They reminded the management that “as per discussion held and agreements reached during the meeting held on 07/07/2021 with the committee constituted wide Director Admin Order no 9 dated 06/07/2021 wherein it was assured that a positive decision will be taken latest by 20/07/2021 regarding the issue of the Start Scale of AEs. Despite positive assurances, grant of start scale of 18030/- to AEs is still pending.”
On another issue “Management has gone against an established policy by excluding the representatives of employee associations/ unions from WFC. Even though PSPCL is not dependent on Punjab Govt for its pay but management has included two number representatives of Power Department and Finance Department of Punjab Government in the WFC, who may have no knowledge about the power sector and its working and may not be able to contribute to the WFC to justify their inclusion in the committee.”
Power engineers gave shock to PSPCL management; resumed their protest . “Despite postponing the agitation repeatedly, these issues have not been resolved till date, such an inordinate delay to resolve the issues is creating huge resentment among engineers. Association will be compelled to intensify the agitation further if the pending issues of power engineers are not resolved on top priority” concluded the spokesperson.
