PPCC president Raja Warring leveled allegations against journalists for writing fake, imaginative stories

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has raised questions on the working of journalists.
“ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਓਹ ਚਾਹ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸੋਚ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਿੱਖ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਕਿ ਸੌਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਗਾਬਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਲੀਡਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ…… ਚਾਹ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸੋਚ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਿੱਖ ਲੈਂਦੇ ” (A journalist has no source. They imagine, think while drinking tea and then write the news and claims that congress leaders are leaving the party, joining other party…..as per sources this thing has happened, is about to happen….)
Yesterday, Raja Warring was in Patiala to show the united face of Patiala Congress to the press. The party had organized a press conference at Local Gymkhana Club.
During the press conference local journalists had asked many questions on various issues of Punjab to Raja Warring.
When Journalists asked Raja Warring about the revolt done by former Rajpura MLA Hardayal Kamboj, Samana MLA Rajinder Singh, veteran congress leader Lal Singh and about the announcement of Balkaur Singh father of Sidhu Moosewala to independently contesting poll, without answering the questions, rather Raja Warring raises questions on the working of journalists and said “ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਓਹ ਚਾਹ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸੋਚ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਿੱਖ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਕਿ ਸੌਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ…” (A journalist has no source. He added there is no such revolt by Hardayal Kamboj, Lal Singh, Rajinder Singh and it’s just the imagination of journalists. When reminded that these leaders had last week organized a show of strength rally at Rajpura on April 20, 2024 in which their supporters had raised any party, anti PPCC president slogans,he skipped the question.
On Balkaur Singh announcement to contest elections independently from Bathinda, he said there is no such news. When questioned that its Balkaur Singh statement, he again said “ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ………”
A senior journalist working with a national daily said ” how can he says like this that journalist has no sources and are writing on their imagination. A journalist is a member a fourth pillar of the democracy. They are responsible citizens and are working with full responsibility. These leaders himself gave us news and say don’t disclose our name, just write as per sources. Than on those news they play politics. Now, a senior leader like Raja Warring says journalists don’t have sources and writing imaginative news. This is ridiculous.
