The first ever IPSC Teachers’ Conclave began at The Punjab Public School, Nabha on November 3, 2019 with a record number of 90 teachers from 22 prestigious public schools of the country taking part in a spirit of shared learning. The theme of the conclave is: “Cautious collaboration of technology in restructuring education”.
The chief guest for the opening ceremony was the Justice Nirmaljeet Kaur, Punjab & Haryana High Court. The proceedings got underway with the lighting of ceremonial lamp symbolic of light dispelling darkness of ignorance. It was followed by Ganesh Vandana presented by the students of the school. Jyotsna Brar, Honorary Member, IPSC Trust and former Principal of Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun formally welcomed and introduced Justice Nirmaljeet Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Nirmaljeet Kaur dwelt at length on the theme of the conclave. She said while technology has brought about efficiency and flair in all sectors of human endeavour, it has also left behind a trail of decline in human values. She said technology has emerged as a vital factor for the overall societal evolution. She enumerated countless advantages of technology in the education sector with special emphasis on class room teaching and learning. Learning has become more engaging, especially for students who are inclined towards visual content. The need, however, is to properly harness it ensuring students do not fall for its negative aspects. She said it has become extremely difficult to assess which aspect of job it can take over.
Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, PPS Nabha gave Justice Nirmaljeet Kaur the traditional fulkari and a memento.
