
PPSC to get new Chairman after 4 months

As per available information, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has cleared the name of Major General (Retd) Vinayak Saini , VSM, SM as the next chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
Formal orders of appointment will be issued later. Maj Gen Saini VSM, SM will succeed former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Jatinder Singh Aulakh, who retired from the post in January this year. The post has been lying vacant since then.
As per sources, earlier the name of Varinder Kumar, IPS former chief director Punjab vigilance Bureau was almost finalized by the govt. But suddenly he was unceremoniously removed from the coveted post and his name was dropped for the post of Chairman, PPSC.

As reported by Indian Express, Major General Saini will be taking the oath of office and secrecy at Punjab Raj Bhawan Wednesday.
Commissioned in the Corps of Engineers in December 1987, Major General Saini belongs to Hoshiarpur, and lives in Mohali. He retired from the Indian Army in October last year.
