Prakash Purab- Punjab government, SGPC agreed for joint celebrations

Today in the morning Punjab Jails and Cooperation minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and his cabinet colleague Charanjit Singh Channi, representing Punjab government, in the coordination committee formed by Akal Takht for joint celebrations of 550th Prakas Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji , met Giani Harpreet Singh , the acting jathedar of Akal Takht, at Amritsar.

In today’s meeting they reach on consensus on single event and agreed to celebrate on the common stage of Punjab government and SGPC to mark the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s.

As per the sources “Punjab government representatives agreed for joint celebrations. The main hindrance was about who will address the devotees, who will sit on the stage etc and on this they agreed and ask Akal Takht Jathedar to decide.”

On this occasion, all those decisions were handed over to Giani Harpreet Singh and several important decisions were taken regarding the events. Following the meeting, Giani Harpreet Singh held a press conference.

During which they shared information that the Punjab Government and SGPC has agreed to jointly celebrate the event and now on the joint stage will be put up and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purb will be celebrated.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that “the Punjab Government has given the responsibility of all the events of Parkash Purb to Sri Akal Takht Sahib”.

Earlier both Punjab government and SGPC have been accusing each other for sabotaging the efforts of joint function.
