Pran Sabharwal releases book on Press Freedom day
Patiala – A 50 page beautifully published English book titled ‘Zinda Lash” authored by Suresh Goel, a social activist and writer was released at a simple, but much effective ceremony, held to mark the Press Feedom day at Maa Kali Mandir Complex, here. The Chief guest Pran Sabharwal, a noted theatre artist and director of National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) Patiala released the book during chanting of Sanskrit Shalokas in the praise of Maa Kali seeking her blessings for media, arts and mankind.
The speakers congratulated Suresh for his effort and wished him best of luck. Introducing his book on the occasion, Suresh said that the book which was based on his personal experience and study in the reorganisation of Indian rural, Urban society, covered over all development in India and would sensitize readers about their duty to fight against corruption and injustice to the poor people.
He claimed to have been an instrumental in the process of new formation and creation of All India Judicial Services (AIJS) on the pattern of IAS. He urged the chief guest Pran Sabharwal to use book, contents for his play. Earlier, Sabharwal, Suresh Goel, programme organiser and guests like Dr. Amarjit Singh Chahal, social worker Rattan Lal spoke about the importance of Press Freedom day. They advocated the Freedom of expression and expressed concern over the increasing attacks on media persons.
