Prof Harpreet Singh of IIT Ropar honoured by CM during 550 years of Gurpurb celebrations

On the occasion of 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday conferred achievers award to Professor Harpreet Singh, Dean ICSR &II (Industrial consultancy, Sponsored Research and Industry Interaction) during a ceremony held at Guru Nank Stadium, Kapurthala, where over 400 eminent Punjabi personalities for their outstanding contribution in various fields were awarded.
Professor Harpreet Singh joined IIT Ropar in 2009 and since then he has contributed a lot and still contributing in giving cutting edge research towards developing several novel coating compositions to prevent high temperature oxidation /corrosion/ erosion-corrosion/ slurry erosion, which can be used as a ready reference by the surface engineering industry.
He is pioneer to publish work on the possibility of using cold spraying process to develop erosion-corrosion resistant coatings for boilers and proposed high temperature corrosion modes for several coatings.
On this occasion he said, “I express my gratitude to the Punjab Government for recognizing and giving inspiration to us to continue our work towards the society and to walk on the path shown by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, to live by true values like honesty and self-confidence.
The ceremony was dedicating and felicitating all those Punjabis who have distinguished themselves in different walks of life. Be it public life, military, civil services, judiciary or legal profession, business, agriculture, academics, religious, social activists, artists, litterateurs, poets, progressive farmers, environmentalists, science and research, sports, culture and media, our people have done extremely well and made our country and Punjab proud.
