The mother of Professor Surinder Singh Chadda—Chairman of Scholar Fields Public School, Patiala and Sikh intellectual—Mata Satwant Kaur Chadda, passed away today after a brief illness.
Mata Satwant Kaur Chadda was a gracious, deeply religious, and value-driven personality who led a life rooted in dignity, compassion, and noble traditions. A dedicated educator by profession, she inspired many through her wisdom, simplicity, and moral strength, leaving behind an enduring legacy of values and service.
Her sudden demise has cast a pall of grief over the Chadda family, relatives, friends, and the entire region. In this hour of profound loss, eminent personalities from various walks of life have expressed their heartfelt condolences and stood in solidarity with the bereaved family.
The last rites of Mata Satwant Kaur Chadda will be performed on January 16, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the cremation ground in Bandugar, Patiala.
