PSPCL clerk nabbed by Vigilance for taking bribe of Rs. 25000

State Vigilance Bureau today arrested consumer clerk of PSPCL for taking bribe of Rs. 25000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Clerk Gurmukh Singh posted at PSPCL office, Patran, Patiala district was arrested on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh of Village Kheri Nagaiha in Patiala district.

The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Clerk was demanding Rs. 45,000 for transfer the tubewell connection in his name. It may be mentioned here that the accused clerk had already taken Rs. 4000 as a first installment on accomplish this job.

After verifying his information, a Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused clerk arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and  further investigation was under progress.
