PSPCL closes cash deposit bill counters; deposit bill digitally or through cheque/ draft

PSPCL has decided to close the cash counters of all Sub Division Offices in the field till 31.03.2020. The due date of bill payment for consumers having amount upto Rs.10,000/- is deferred till 31.03.2020 by cash mode. However, these consumers are appealed to make the payment of their energy bills through digital mode and Cheque/ Demand Draft (by writing Account No. at the back of Cheque/ Demand Draft) for which drop box facility has also been provided at each Sub Divisions.
PSPCL has also clarified that other consumers with bill amount more than Rs. 10,000/- will continue to pay within the specified due date through Cheque/ Demand Draft and digital mode.
Also keeping in view of the Coronavirus Covid-19 A.Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary/ Power, Punjab Govt. has issued instructions to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited to provide uninterrupted 24×7 power supply to all Health Care Institutions such as Medical Colleges, Hospitals, Dispensaries, other Medical Establishments, Public Health Laboratories for testing the virus that causes COVID-19 and Quarantine Centres across the States.
In a communication addressed to Er.Baldev Singh Sran, CMD PSPCL, Principal Secretary Power also directed that PSPCL should also work proactively because these places are the first contact point in case of medical emergency.
Accordingly, instructions have been imparted to the field offices for ensuring uninterrupted 24×7 power supply to all such Health Care Institutions and Quarantine Centres in the state. In case of failure of power supply, the respective institutions may contact at phone 96461-06835 and 96461-06836 for restoration of supply.
