PSPCL employees in doldrums as management is using dilly-dallying tactics-Associations

In a joint press statement issued on 18/12/21 PSEB Engineers’ Association, JE Council, Joint Forum, Officers Accounts Association, IT Officers Association, (AM/HR) PSPCL, HR Manager’s Association representative bodies of all cadres of engineers, officers and officials of PSPCL and PSTCL expressed their resentment against the deliberate attempts by management in delaying the already announced pay scales.
It was informed that after finalisation of 6th pay commission of Punjab Government, PSPCL constituted the Wage Formulation Committee, which included representatives from the Finance Department Government of Punjab, to study and finalise the new scales for PSPCL/ PSTCL employees. On the recommendations of WFC, financial circulars 10 to 23 dated 17/11/2021 have been issued by the management. It was assured that the new scales will be implemented from Nov 2021, but they failed to implement the same. Now it has been learnt that verbal instructions have been given to withhold the implementation of new pay scales.

Ashutosh Goyal President PSPCL/PSTCL IT Officers’ Association, Reetinder Singh Galvatti (AM/HR) President PSPCL HR Manager’s Association, all representative bodies of PSPCL and PSTCL employees, stated that if new scales as already announced by the management are not implemented and the salary of Dec 2021 is not released as per new scales, all associations/ unions representing various sections of employees will start protest immediately. Any subsequent failure of equipment, blackout in the power sector will be the responsibility of management.

The leaders appealed to the CM Punjab to intervene and instruct the PSPCL/ PSTCL management to implement new pay scales immediately, as already circulated, with the salary of Dec 2021. Further, the PSPCL management was requested to adhere to already decided issues and avoid manufacturing new issues with all categories of employees and resolve the pending issues, so that industrial peace may be restored.
