PSPCL issues notification of Rs 3 slashed tariff; new tariff announced

Punjab state power corporation limited has issued the slashed power tariff. New power tariff will be applicable from November 1,2021.
In order to implement the commitment of Punjab Government in true spirit under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi Chief Minister of Punjab, Punjab state power corporation limited has given number of relief and concessions to the various consumers of Punjab.
A.Venu Prasad CMD said that PSPCL is committed to provide uninterrupted , quality and cheaper power to the people of Punjab for progress and prosperity of the state.
While sharing the relief and concessions extended to different consumers of the Punjab, CMD said that PSPCL has reduced the power tariff of domestic consumers by Rs 3 per unit with a load of 7 KW with effect from November 1,2021.
As a result almost 70 lacs domestic consumers are going to be benefitted and a relief of Rs 3200 crores annually. He said that now the new tariff for domestic consumers (Upto 2 KW) will be 1.19 Per unit upto 100 units, and the tariff for the consumers having load above 2 KW and Upto 7 KW will be Rs 1.49 per unit upto 100 units and the consumers having load upto 7 KW will pay tariff of Rs 4.01 per unit for 101 to 300 units . He said that consumers having load upto 7 KW will have to pay Rs 5.76 per unit above 300 units.

CMD said that PSPCL has waived off power bills amounting around Rs/-1500 crores of about 53 lacs domestic consumers with load of 2 Kw. He said that for the expansion of the industry in the state, , the fixed tariff charges of medium scale industrial consumers with a load (Above 20 KVA upto 100 KVA ) has been revised to Rs 60 per KVA from Rs 120 per KVA with effect from Nov.1,2021 .This has provided relief of about Rs.42 crores to around 32500 medium scale industrial consumers in the state.
