PSPCL marching ahead; regularly beating its own demand records; successfully met today’s peak demand of 15325 MW

With hot and humid weather and 8 hour power supply for the agriculture sector , PSPCL today on Friday met an all time record demand of 15306.68 MW, successfully. Continuously for the last three days, PSPCL is meeting the increased demand during this paddy season. On Wednesday, the demand was 14960 MW, on Thursday it was 15151 and now of Friday, the figure touches 15325 MW at 13:45 PM
All the seven available thermal units in the state sector are running and all the private sector thermal units are also operating. Two out of four Ranjit Sagar units are running today .
On Thursday , the water level in Bhakra dam’s reservoir was 1,580 feet, 16.7 feet higher than the last year level of 1562.3 feet at the same time. The reservoir level in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 1678.8 feet which is 22.6 feet higher than the level of 1656 feet during corresponding period last year. Similarly, Pong dam’s water level at 1330.4 feet is 30 feet higher than last year’s level of 1300.5 feet.
The filling season of reservoirs would begin from June 1, and would extend up to September 20.
