Psychology of women shown in play Bodi Wala Tara at Virsa Vihar Kendra

North Zone Cultural Centre staged eminent bollywood actor Rana Jung Bahadur’s scripted play ‘Bodi Wala Tara’ in Kalidasa Auditorium, Virsa Vihar Kendra, Patiala. Drama was beautifully directed by Parminderpal Kaur.
The play written by Rana Jung Bahadur gives an accent of Malwa area of Punjab. Puja played the main character of Kanti in the play who desires love from her husband but husband always neglected and abused her.
Kanti’s mother inlaw takes her to the a person who pretends to be a saint so that she gets a child with his blessings. Kanti saves herself from falling prey to phony’s urge of sex. Meanwhile, she also wants to put an end to this fake allegation of being a sterile, her dilemma is shown in this way. In the interim both brothers driven by the lust of land and money, starts fighting every day. The quarrel swells up so much that one brother is murdered in the process.
The play paints with the blue theme, afterwards where the vicious struggle between a woman and Indian society is shown. Kanti’s life after the murder take a nosedive, she snubs her own passions in the search of becoming a perfect person.
In this play, Choti’s character is played by Prabhjot Kaur, Deva is played by Sanjeev Rai, Chandan Baloch plays the character of Niranjan, Roop Kaur Sandhu is seen as Satya and Succha Singh’s character is acted by Rajesh Sharma.Other prominent players of the play are, Bhajan Kaur (Karamjit Kaur), Banso (Anju Saini), Chajju (Amandeep Singh), Jagar (Surjeet), Sadhu ka Chela (Gopal Sharma) and Giddha is presented by Puneet, Sahiba and Manya. Famous musician, Harjeet Guddu gave his melodies to this play and voice to the songs is given by Dr. Harinder Hundel and Bhawanpreet Kaur.
