Pulse Polio Campaign to be held on March 11

The pulse polio vaccination campaign will be held on March 11 under which children in age group of 0 to 5 years would be vaccinated against polio. On March 12 and March 13 children will be administered polio vaccine door-to-door.

The Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diprava Lakra stated this while presiding over meeting of the District Task Force. He added that 1, 53, 149 children aged 0 to 5 years will be administered vaccine at 698 polio booths, 22 transit booths. Besides this 29 mobile teams will and 1247 teams will cover door-to-door population. He added that 2295 health workers have been deputed to complete the entire exercise. He appealed people to get their children vaccinated against polio even if the child is unwell, suffers from diarrhea and has taken routine polio vaccine previously.

He directed the departments to coordinate with health department so that no child in 0 to 5 years age category is left out.  Regarding measles and rubella campaign he said that all the departments will make their contribution to make it a success.

Prominent among others included Civil Surgeon Dr HN Singh, district immunization officer Dr Kundan Kumar Pal, urban nodal officer Dr Pamil Bansal, district mass media officer Jagtar Singh, all SMOs, Deputy DEO secondary Bathinda, officials of transport department, police, food and civil supplies, Powercom, NGOs  etc.
