Punjab BJP leaders launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government during a rally, accusing it of failing Punjab’s farmers and handing over the state’s governance to Delhi leaders.

Kisan-Mazdoor Fateh Rally – A thanksgiving rally was organized at Rajpura by the Punjab BJP.

Among others, Union Minister Ravneet Bittu, Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Ashwani Sharma, Tarun Chugh, Preneet Kaur, and Biba Jai Inder Singh Fateh Bajwa attended the event.

Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar said the people of Punjab, who elected 92 AAP MLAs in 2022, are now “paying the price” for their decision. “We have no grievance with Arvind Kejriwal; our grievance is with Bhagwant Mann, because Punjabis voted for him,” he remarked.

Jakhar criticized AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed statement, alleging that Bhagwant Mann and Aman Arora trivialized the matter. He accused the Chief Minister of effectively outsourcing Punjab’s government to Delhi leaders. Targeting the land pooling policy, Jakhar blamed Kejriwal, Sisodia, and Satinder Jain, calling them “failed leaders from Delhi” facing multiple cases.

He also hit out at Congress leaders, accusing them of double standards on land pooling, and argued that Punjab’s ballooning debt could only be addressed with central government assistance. “Well begun is half done,” he said, attributing the success of the rally to the party’s momentum.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jakhar said the PM had stood firm before  U.S. President Donald Trump, refusing to compromise on farmers’ interests. He appealed to Punjabis to support Modi’s stand.

Punjab BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma echoed AAP’s criticism, saying people want liberation from AAP and see BJP as a viable alternative. “I see a changed Punjab—one that is moving with Modi,” Sharma declared.

Sharma accused the Mann government of failing to curb drug abuse in the state and challenged it to release official data. He praised the Haryana BJP government for providing MSP on 24 crops, contrasting it with Punjab’s “anti-farmer” policies and its land pooling scheme, which he alleged aimed at “snatching farmers’ lands.”

Sharma announced that the BJP will hold rallies in all 117 Assembly constituencies to mobilize public support.

Central minister Ravneet Bittu alleged that when the three controversial farm laws were introduced, then Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal misled Prime Minister Narendra Modi by assuring him that consultations had been held with farmers. However, once the laws were enacted, farmers strongly opposed them, forcing the Prime Minister to apologize and eventually repeal the laws.

Bittu further claimed that approval for the Rajpura–Chandigarh railway line, costing around Rs 700 crore, is expected next week.

Appealing to Punjabis, particularly farmers, Bittu said that if the BJP forms the government in 2027, all types of loans would be waived. He also took a swipe at AAP leader Manish Sisodia, criticizing his remarks based on the strategy of Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed (persuasion, bribery, punishment, division).

Preneet Kaur-Former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur announced that the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, will be observed at the party level.

In another development, Satbir Singh Khattra, son of former IG Ranbir Singh Khattra (who headed the SIT formed to probe the Bargari sacrilege incident), has joined the BJP.

Tarun Chugh-BJP leader Tarun Chugh accused Aam Aadmi Party leaders from Delhi of treating Punjab as an ATM for their political interests.

Jai Inder Kaur- BJP Punjab Mahila Wing President Jai Inder Kaur, daughter of Captain Amarinder Singh, accused the Punjab government of creating hurdles in the BJP’s Kisan Mazdoor Fateh Rally at Rajpura. She alleged that on the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, police were stopping buses and harassing BJP workers by setting up checkpoints.

Jai Inder Kaur claimed that the land pooling policy was introduced only to please AAP leaders in Delhi and to “usurp farmers’ lands for big builders.” She questioned why such a policy was implemented if its adverse impact on farmers was already known.
