Punjab declares summer vacations for all schools

The Punjab Government has declared summer vacations for all schools across the state, with an official notification issued by Sonali Giri, IAS, Secretary, School Education Department (Education-6 Branch).
According to the order, all government, government-aided, and private schools in Punjab will remain closed from June 1 to June 30, 2026. The directive applies uniformly to every category of school, leaving no institution exempt from the vacation schedule.
The decision has been taken as part of the state’s annual summer break, providing students and school staff a month-long holiday during the peak summer season. Schools are expected to resume regular classes after the vacation period ends, subject to any further instructions from the School Education Department.
