Punjab Government announces paid holiday on 25th Sept, 1st and 5th October 2024 under section 135B (1) of RP Act, 1951

In view of elections of the Legislative Assembly of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the Punjab Government declared paid holiday on 25th September, 2024 and 1st October 2024.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of Punjab Government said that in case any officer/employee is a voter in the voter list of Legislative Assembly of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and is working in the Government Offices/Boards/Corporations and Government Educational Institutions of the Punjab State, then he/she would be eligible for availing special holiday on 25th September, 2024 and 1st October 2024 (as per the phase of voting) from the competent authority by presenting their voter identity card.  This holiday won’t be deducted from the leave account of the officer/employee.

Apart from this, he said that Department of Personnel has issued notification in this regard.  According to this notification, the Government of Punjab has declared paid holiday on 25th September, 2024 and 1st October 2024 (as per the phase of voting) for voters who are included in the voter list of Legislative Assembly of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and working in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment in the state of Punjab as per the provision of the Section 135B(1) of the Representation of People Act, 1951.

Apart from this, he said that Department of Personnel has issued notification in this regard.  According to this notification, the Government of Punjab has declared paid holiday on 5th October, 2024 for voters who are included in the voter list of Haryana Legislative Assembly and working in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment in the state of Punjab as per the provision of the Section 135B(1) of the Representation of People Act, 1951.
