Punjab government issues instructions on absentee employees

In Punjab the government employees have a reason to worry if they are absent from work continuously for a period of one year, without prior sanction of leave as will be considered as ‘deemed resigned’, as per the latest state government Finance Department instructions.
The Punjab government‘s finance department has conveyed to all departments that if any officer or employee remains absent from office for a period of one year without leave, he/she will be deemed to have resigned from service.
In a letter issued by the Finance Department any such officer/official should not be allowed to rejoin without the pre-approval of competent authority and the concerned administrative department should discuss the issue with finance department under Punjab Civil Service Rules.
Punjab government issues instructions on absentee employees . As per the instructions the concerned competent authority would have to issue immediate orders to terminate services of these absentees as per rules, failing which the concerned authority would be held responsible.
