Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated the newly constructed Amar Shaheed Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial at Sri Anandpur Sahib to the public on October 5. The memorial has now been opened for devotees, who are showing great enthusiasm to visit it alongside the famous Virasat-e-Khalsa Museum. This has not only increased the inflow of pilgrims to the holy city but also boosted religious tourism in the region.

This statement was issued by Punjab Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains. He said that the Punjab Government is commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with great devotion. Earlier, the Chief Minister not only dedicated the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial to the people but also initiated work on the Heritage Corridor. Now, a large number of devotees are visiting the memorial, which has received widespread appreciation from visitors.

Bains informed that the memorial has been constructed in two phases. In the first phase, the main building was built at a cost of around ₹17 crore. In the second phase, five exhibition galleries have been set up at a cost of about ₹3 crore, and these have now been dedicated to humanity. He added that the Punjab Government is making continuous efforts to promote religious tourism, and long queues of devotees can be seen visiting the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial.

He further said that as visitors enter the memorial, they are provided with information about it through models and videos. The galleries depict historical moments such as the Sikh Gurus, the ancestral connection of Bhai Jaita Ji with the Gurus, the persecution of Kashmiri Pandits, the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Jaita Ji bringing the Guru’s sacred head to Sri Anandpur Sahib, presenting it to the young Guru Gobind Singh Ji, being honored with the title “Rangretta Guru Ke Bete,” the creation of the Khalsa Panth, and Bhai Jaita Ji’s participation in various battles.

The Cabinet Minister added that the final gallery features a 3D animation showcasing the entire life journey of Bhai Jaita Ji. In addition, for the convenience of devotees, a gift shop and sites connected with Punjab Tourism have also been developed. He said that this memorial project has been successfully completed with the support of the Punjab Government, and with the growing number of visitors, it will further promote trade and business in Sri Anandpur Sahib.
