Punjab government to spend Rs 2.57 crore on oath taking ceremony

Punjab government is going to spend Rs 2.57 crore on the oath taking ceremony of newly elected chief minister Bhagwant Mann on March 16,2022 at Khatkar Kalan, the village of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) district.

After the thumping victory in the assembly elections, AAP’s chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann had announced that he would take oath as the chief minister at Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom memorial in his village, not in Chandigarh. Preparations have intensified in KhatkarKalan, the village of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) district.

Punjab government to spend Rs 2.57 crore on oath taking ceremony. As per available information the expected expenditure on the oath taking ceremony is Rs 2.00 crores where arrangements for 1 lakh people have been made across a 13-acre land behind the martyr’s memorial at Khatkar Kalan in Nawanshahr. 6.5 acres on the memorial’s property will be used for the pandal, the ceremony’s set up will also extended to the nearby fields.

Gates will be installed on the boundary wall of the memorial, to ensure maximum people could be hosted without being obstructed.

Punjab government has kept Rs 15.00 lacs for the visit of 92 MLAs to Amritsar on march 13, 2022 as a part of oath taking ceremony. As per the plan Bhawant Mann along with Arvind Kejriwal, Raghav Chadha 91 newly elected MLAs will reach ‘Guru ki Nagri’ Amritsar on March 13th to pay their obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Mandir and Sri Ram Tirath Mandir and to thank Waheguru for this success.

Punjab government has kept Rs 42 lacs (Rs 2 lacs each for 21 district’s ) for the transport department to ferry AAP workers from their district to the venue of oath taking ceremony at Khatkar Kalan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr).
