Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit hosts ‘AT HOME’

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit played host to a galaxy of distinguished citizens of Punjab and Chandigarh at the ‘At Home’ in Punjab Raj Bhavan on Monday.
The program began with the arrival of Governor at the venue at 5.00 PM. The Governor was given a ceremonial welcome by the Police band with the National Anthem played by it.
The invitees from different walks of life converged at the Punjab Raj Bhavan which was tastefully decorated on the 75th Anniversary of Independence Day. The Governor greeted the guests present and exchanged pleasantries with them. Despite inclement weather the ‘At Home’ ceremony was well attended.
Prominent amongst guests present were Governor Haryana, Bhandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, Raghav Chaddha, Member of Parliament, Sarabjit Kaur, Mayor, Anoop Gupta, Deputy Mayor, Ministers from Punjab Cabinet, senior bureaucrats and police officers from Punjab and Chandigarh including Chief Secretary, Punjab V.K. Janjua, Principal Secretary to Governor, J.M. Balamurugan, Adviser U.T., Dharampal, DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, Parveer Ranjan, DGP, Chandigarh.
There was a noticeable presence of officers from Western Command, Chandimandir. Several academicians and intellectuals including the Vice Chancellors of various Universities, Chairmans of various Boards, Corporations and Academies were also present on the occasion.
Among others present were Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor Attorney General, Government of India, Harinder Kaur, Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports NSS and Furqan Khan, Director NZCC. Arun Sood, President, BJP, Chandigarh, Sanjay Tandon, Ex-President, BJP, Chandigarh.
About ‘At Home’
Every year ‘At Home’ is organized at Raj Bhavan at 4.00 PM on the occasion of Republic Day/Independence Day. The party begins with the arrival of HE the Governor at the venue at 4.00 P.M.. The Governor is given a ceremonial welcome by the Police band with National Anthem Played by it. At the end of the party the same procedure is repeated. During the party, HE the Governor goes around, greets the guests present and exchange pleasantries with them. All the guests are entertained with high tea during the events. Illumination of the building of Raj Bhavan is done on the occasion of Republic Day/Independence Day.
