Punjab Govt Organises Medical Relief Camps for Flood-Hit Families in Ferozepur Border Villages

The Punjab Government on Thursday organised medical relief camps in the flood-affected border villages of Gatti Rajo Ke and Jallo in Ferozepur district to provide urgent healthcare to families hit by recent floods.
A special medical team from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot, examined hundreds of patients at the camps, which were set up at the local Gurdwara in Gatti Rajo Ke, and distributed medicines free of cost to those suffering from waterborne diseases, infections, and post-flood complications.
The team was led by Dr. Nishu Dihana, Assistant Professor of Community Medicine, who acted as Camp Incharge, and included doctors Dr. Nupur Garg and Dr. Gurchandandeep Singh from Community Medicine, Dr. Neerja Puri, Dr. Jashanpreet Kaur, and Dr. Sarshpreet Singh from Skin, Dr. Ashutosh Talwar, Dr. Sandeep Saini, and Dr. Sidharth Jojra from Surgery, Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Harshita, and Dr. Uday Partap from Medicine, and Dr. Maninder Singh Sidhu and Dr. Mamta from Psychiatry.
They were supported by staff nurses Sukhjeet Kaur, Lakhwinder Kaur, and Gurpreet Singh, along with pharmacists Pardeep Kumar and Manmohan Singh.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh personally supervised the camp, encouraged the medical staff, and reiterated that the government’s priority was to stand with every flood-hit family and ensure no one was left without treatment.
Local residents expressed gratitude for the timely medical help, while the Health Department assured that similar camps would continue in other affected villages of Ferozepur and adjoining districts.
