Punjab govt takes major decision on covid care centres

The state government on Monday has decided to close all the level-1 Covid care centres in the state.
As per the orders issued today by the secretary health and family welfare cum mission director NHM Punjab govt, “all the level 1 covid care centres is closed from today itself, due to low occupancy in the care centres. All the patients who are undergoing covid treatment in covid care centres, must be shifted to government hospital of level 2 care centres”. One of the civil surgeons of Punjab- Dr Naresh Aggarwal has confirmed the latest development.
As per the concerned officials “the decision was taken in view of the downward trend of Covid cases in Punjab. These covid care centres were established mainly in meritorious schools and other government buildings, in the state, after the surge of covid cases in Punjab”
“After the state government relaxes the norms to covid patients ,with home isolation facility and dip in new cases, the state government has taken this step. Moreover only asymptomatic patients were being kept here, they shall be shifted to the Civil Hospital (level 2) and those who are healthy shall be under home isolation.”” said a medico attached with the covid care centre.
As per the orders “ all the volunteer staff services is terminated with immediate effect, after the closure of the covid care centres and no financial transactions done after October 5 2020 will be entertained”
