Punjab govt to hire detective agencies to check malpractices done by doctors, others

Punjab health department is going to tighten noose and to check the misuse of pre-natal diagnostic techniques for determination of sex of foetus leading to female foeticide, is going to hire a private detective agency, which will keep an eye on malpractices done by doctors ,un-registered ultrasound machines, or any other person/s, genetic counseling centre, genetic clinics, genetic laboratories, hospitals, clinics, private clinics, mobile unit, mobile genetic clinics, ultrasound centres, portable ultrasound machines, veterinary clinics, sex selective advertisements , hospitals or any other place etc.

“As per the plan the detective agencies shall provide full support and services to the state appropriate authority constituted under PC & PNDT Act or the district appropriate authorities or any other authorized officer in implementation of all the necessary provisions required under PC& PNDT Act’ said director health services (family welfare) Dr Andesh Kang.

Punjab govt to hire detective agencies to check malpractices done by doctors, others . As per the available information, the work of the detective agency includes supplying of information, inputs , investigation, search, seizure, collecting evidence , recording of statement incorporating two independent witnesses etc in case of commitment of offence under the PC & PNDT Act against any genetic counseling centres,  genetic clinics, genetic laboratories, hospitals, clinics, private clinics, mobile unit, mobile genetic clinics, ultrasound centres, portable ultrasound machines, veterinary clinics, sex selective advertisements, any other institution, Gynecologist, , Pediatrician, Registered Medical Practitioner, un-registered medical practitioner, any other doctor etc or any person dealing with such like practice. After the raid, search and seizure of documents or any other evidence collected from the place of incident shall help health department to prepare all the relevant documents for filling the complaint to police or court after following required due procedure.”
