Punjab Police DSP suspended for indiscipline and misconduct

Director General of Police (DGP) , Punjab Police has issued a suspension order of Babandeep Singh, PPS posted as DSP (HQ), Hoshiarpur for indiscipline and misconduct.
As per available information, special DGP, ANTF has intimated the DGP office that Babandeep Singh, PPS had been sent for a course at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law at Patiala from 17 Nov 2025 to 22 Nov 2025. The university authorities has lodged a complaint about indiscipline and misconduct done by Babandeep during the course.
As per available information, Punjab DGP office received a written complaint, levelling serious allegations against Babandeep Singh, PPS for indulging in ‘indecent behavior’ with girl students of Law University, Patiala while undergoing a a week’s course.
“The DSP allegedly misbehaved with girl students in an inebriated state on the campus during his training. In one of the instances, the DSP was allegedly intoxicated, asking the girl students to join him for a dance, besides offering gifts in another. A complaint was made to the higher authorities of the university, who later brought the matter into the notice of the special DGP ANTF who is coordinating with the university authorities on behalf of the state police,” said a senior official, pleading anonymity.
The course for police officers was inaugurated by the Punjab Chief Minister in October. The course focused on taking action against drug traffickers and smugglers under the NDPS Act and “is essential to train police officers to deal with criminals” who are adopting newer and more advanced techniques.
During the training, the officers are given lodging on the university campus.
