Punjab police searching Amritpal in Punjab whereas he reached Haryana

Most wanted fugitive of Punjab, Amritpal Singh, who continues to remain yet at large, has escaped out of Punjab and has entered the neighboring state of Haryana.
As per inspector general of Punjab police Sukhchain Singh Gill, Amritpal Singh entered Haryana on the night of March 19,2023 and has stayed at a residence of a woman at Sidharat Colony, Ladwa Road, Shahbad, Haryana’s Kurukshetra. On march 20,2023 he along with Papalpreet left her house at around 12:00 pm. The investigating agencies have also detained a woman Baljit Kaur based at Shahbad with whom Amritpal is suspected to have stayed at her residence on March 19.

As per available information, Amritpal was desperately trying to cross into Uttarakhand from where he was suspected to attempt crossing over to Nepal.
Amritpal Singh continues to evade the police for the sixth consecutive day.
A total 8 FIR’s has been lodged against FIR at different police stations out of which three are by Amritsar Rural, are were by Jalandhar Rural police. Khanna police has also arrested one Tejinder Singh Gill another accomplice of Amritpal Singh. A FIR has been lodged at police station Maloud on March 22,2023.
A FIR has been lodged against Amritpal Singh for extortion and rioting following a complaint by the ‘granthi’ of a gurdwara in Jalandhar where the pro-Khalistan preacher changed his clothes and fled on a bike to escape the police crackdown on his outfit. Police said the fugitive spent around 45 minutes at a gurdwara in Nangal Ambian village.
