Punjab Revenue officers association put forths its new working plan to DCs, SDMs

Punjab Revenue Officers Association (PROA), is an association of all DROs, Tehsildars and Naib – Tehsildars working under Punjab Government, held a virtual meeting on March 31,2022. In that meeting the association take some major decisions. Later they forwarded the same to all the deputy commissioners, SDMs of the state.
Amongst the decisions that the officers association took is that no revenue officer will work on Saturday, Sunday’s, holidays , will not attend any meeting on weekends, holidays. They will work only from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.
In another decision that the association took is that no revenue officer, working as executive magistrate, will not go anywhere without the official vehicle.
No officer will go and check the procurement mandis if no official vehicle is given to them.
As per sources, “this all stated after the recent incident that happened at Gurdaspur in which the deputy commissioner ordered some special measures to check the alleged corruption in the district. The deputy commissioner had directed the concerned officers to install CCTV cameras in the tehsil office, to daily maintain the records of registries done in the tehsil office. He even ordered to depute a staff to call the person who visited the tehsil office for registries and cross check with them whether they face any problem during their visit to tehsil office, whether the paid any extra money to any official, deed writer or anyone in the tehsil office.”
“Those order of the deputy commissioner Gurdaspur has irked the revenue officers association. Reacting sharply, the Punjab Revenue Officers Association wrote a strongly worded letter the all the deputy commissioners of the state and threatens to go on strike. After this, the deputy commissioner Gurdaspur takes back his orders” said an officer on the condition of anonymity.
