Punjab State Ministerial Services Union extended its strike

Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU), who were on five day pendown strike from June 22, 2021, against the recommendation of 6th pay commission, has once again extended their strike for three more days i.e from June 28 to June 30,2021.
Mandeep Singh Sidhu, state general secretary of Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU) said, “ our union has decided to extend our pendown strike from June 28 to June 30,2021. During this period, we will keep our computers shut and no online work will be done, along with our pendown strike.All government employees, including superintendents and clerical staff, across the state will be on the strike He also requested the officials of all the Punjab government departments to cooperate and make this protest a success.”
Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU) has demanded a more hike in the 6th pay commission for state government employees, instead of hike of 2.59 times recommended by the pay panel.
Employees union has said that have rejected the commission recommendations and they will decide their further course of action after June 30, 2021.
Employees belonging to various government departments have announced to oppose Congress candidates in upcoming state assembly elections if the government did not rectify the recommendations.
