Punjabi University alumnus former MP Jagmeet Brar presented a cheque to VC

Jagmeet Singh Brar, former Member Parliament and alumnus of Punjabi University, Patiala presented a cheque of Rs. 5 lakh to the University.
Presenting the cheque to Prof. Arvind, Vice Chancellor, he said that he has an emotional bonding and deep connection with the University. Therefore, he considers it his duty to come forward for the financial support of the University. He said that the kind of financial crisis that the University is facing today is painful for all of us. This is high time that all of us rise above the political lines and come forward for supporting the University, he said. Recalling his student days spent here in the University, he said that wherever we could in the country or abroad, it always gives us immense satisfaction that we are the product of this prestigious institution of higher learning and we would always be proud of that.
While appreciating vice chancellor Prof. Arvind, he said that it is a matter of great pride for the University that an eminent scientist like him has taken the charge of this University. He said that he sees a great future of the University with him in the office.
Prof. Arvind, while expressing his gratitude to him, said that his initiative would encourage others as well. He said that this initiative has strengthened his confidence further that alumni of this University spread accross the world, would come forward in large numbers for the betterment of the University.
Prof. Arvind told that ‘Vice Chancellor’s Fund’ would be set up by the University to ensure that the alumni contributions get used for the betterment of the University in a best possible manner. He said that the alumni of the University are the strength of the University and he is very much confident that they would always be there for the Punjabi University.
