Punjabi university releases engineering admission guidelines

+2 Marks based Admission to B.Tech CSE in Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Punjabi University, Patiala) Due to the present scenario of COVID-19 Pandemic in the country, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (C.S.E), Punjabi University Patiala has decided to change the eligibility criteria for the admission in B.Tech C.S.E for the current session 2020-2021. Earlier the admission in B.Tech C.S.E had always been on the basis of J.E.E Rank.
However, in this session, the eligibility for the admission will be through +2 Marks. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/vocational/biology etc. as optional subject.
For the detailed admission procedure student can visit the admission portal https://pupadmissions.ac.in. This decision has been taken due to uncertainty occurred in conducting JEE entrance exam that is going to be held in September. Providing more information, Dr. Raman Maini Head of the Department of C.S.E told that CBSE has declared its senior secondary results and other boards of the country are also on the verge of declaring it.
By doing so, it will surely help the parents to take appropriate decision well on time. Last date to apply for B.Tech CSE is 30th July 2020. He also told that, the department is running other courses like M.Tech Computer Engineering Regular (A.I.C.T.E Approved) and M.Tech Computer Engineering part time. Admissions to these courses will also be initiated as soon as the B.Tech final year result will be declared by different universities.
