Punjabi university staff gets Covid jab; VC urges eligible persons to get vaccinated

Following the Punjab Government guidelines and celebrating World Health Day free COVID (Covishield) Vaccination camp was organized by Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala on 9th April, 2021 in collaboration with Office of Civil Surgeon, Patiala at Waris Bhawan Lawns, Punjabi University Campus, Patiala.
Approximately 200 persons above 45 years age were vaccinated in the camp. The Camp was attended by Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill, Registrar Dr. Varinder Kaushik, DC Patiala, Kumar Amit, Pooja Syal ADC(D), Dr. Satinder Singh, Civil Surgeon, Patiala, Ismat Vijay Singh, AC (Gen) and other dignitaries of the University.
Vice Chancellor Ravneet Kaur IAS has sent her message that we all should encourage all those who are eligible to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill said that people should be alert and aware and Punjabi University Employees and residents who are above 45 years age must get their vaccination done.
Dr. Varinder Kaushik, Registrar appreciated the efforts taken by the health centre in organizing the camp and also the measures taken by the Health Centre during Covid Pandemic. He said that all university employees should get their vaccination done.
Kumar Amit DC Patiala said that vaccination is critical for Covid spread and it’s the only way to stop its spike. He urged all above 45 to get vaccinated as soon as possible and there is no fear in it.
Dr. Regina Maini ,SMO Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre said as per the guidelines issued by Punjab Government the vaccination of the University staff, employees and faculty has been done with the collaboration of Office of Civil Surgeon, Patiala. She thanked DC Patiala Mr. Kumar Amit, Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinder Singh and members of District Administration Patiala. She thanked the staff of Health Centre for their cooperation and whole Punjabi university family.
She specially thanked Vice Chancellor Ravneet Kaur, IAS for encouraging, supporting and helping in getting the vaccination done in the University.
She thanked Dean Academics and Registrar for always supporting and encouraging university health centre.
