Punjabi university staff is now protected with Covishield -Dr Regina

Following the Punjab Government guidelines, a Free COVID (Covishield) Vaccination camp was organized by Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala on 6th May, 2021 in collaboration with Office of Civil Surgeon, Patiala at Waris Bhawan Lawns, Punjabi University Campus, Patiala.

Approximately 200 persons above 45 years age were vaccinated in the camp. The Camp was inaugurated by  Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala Prof.(Dr.) Arvind .

The Civil Surgeon, Patiala Dr. Satinder Singh, Distt. Epidemiology officer Dr. Sumit, Distt. Immunization Officer Dr. Venu Goyal  graced the occasion .The camp was attended by Dean Academics Dr. Pushpinder Gill, Registrar Dr. Varinder Kaushik , Dean Research Dr. G S Batra and other dignitaries of the University. 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind expressed happiness and satisfaction about the measures taken to combat Covid at Punjabi University, Patiala. In particular he appreciated the proactive initiatives of the Health Centre and its Incharge SMO Dr. Regina Maini and the efforts of the District Health Administration, Civil Surgeon, Patiala and his team are highly appreciated.

He said very soon we hope to build a vaccinated Punjabi University, Patiala Community which can function confidently.

Dr. Satinder Singh, Civil Surgeon, Patiala said every person above 45 years age must get vaccinated as early as possible.

Dr. Regina Maini, SMO  Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre said  as per the guidelines issued by Punjab Government the vaccination of the University staff, employees and faculty has been done with the collaboration of Office of Civil Surgeon, Patiala. She thanked Civil Surgeon and his team for organizing the Camp. She thanked the staff of Health Centre for their cooperation and whole Punjabi university family. She said this was the second Free Vaccination Camp. Three sampling Camps have already been held in the University.

She said this Camp was planned and organized by the  Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind when he joined the University, He took personal interest in motivating the staff and faculty of the University to get the Vaccination done.

She thanked Professor Arvind for encouraging, supporting and helping in getting the vaccination done in the University.

She said as and when Punjab Govt. permits, Camp will be organized for students and employees above 18 years age

She thanked Dean Academics and Registrar for always supporting and encouraging university health Centre.
