Tomorrow, July 31,2023 is the last working day for A. Venu Prasad, IAS (1991 batch) Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab and in addition Special Chief Secretary, New & Renewable Energy Sources and in addition Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Punjab State Transmission Corporation Ltd.
He is also the president of the Punjab IAS Officers Association.

Many names are making rounds in the administrative, political circle for the key post of Special Chief Secretary / Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab.
An officer on the condition of anonymity said “there are many officers including of the rank of special chief secretary, principal secretaries who are trying their best to get this coveted post. As nothing is cleared till now, the exact position will be cleared on Monday itself.”
“About the post of President, Punjab IAS Officers Association, it might be given to the chief secretary Anurag Verma.”
Another officer on the condition of anonymity said “ the state government is interested in adjusting the outgoing powerful bureaucrat , A Venu Prasad. As per available information, he will remain the CMD Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) and may be given the charge of CMD, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) in coming months or after the retirement of incumbent CMD Baldev Singh Sran . He has attained the age of 60 and the CMD can serve upto the age of 65 years.”
