Today Navjot Singh Sidhu falls into a pit dug by him himself. He had created pressure on the party high command to declare chief minister of Punjab for the upcoming Punjab assembly elections.

Under his pressure, during his recent visit to Punjab on January 27, Rahul Gandhi had confirmed that the party will fight the elections with a CM face and a decision would be taken soon after consulting party workers. Rahul Gandhi made the statement after Sidhu at the rally demanded that the party declare the CM face for the polls and said he doesn’t want to be a “showpiece”.

Rahul Gandhi today made the big declaration that Charanjit Singh Channi is the chief minister face of congress, during his visit to the poll-bound state. Rahul Gandhi declared Channi’s name in a virtual rally addressed by him at Ludhiana.

CM face-“Dig oneself into a hole” proves fit on Navjot Singh Sidhu. This is a great setback for Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is eyeing chief minister’s post for himself, for the sake of Punjab, Punjabi and Paunjabiyat. Finally , he lost the race.

Earlier, taking on his own party, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu started his party in 2021 year end to declare the chief ministerial face ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

“What’s a baraat without a dulha,” Sidhu quipped in an interview with CNN-News18, adding that the right chief minister was crucial to avoid a crisis.

The party high command keeps on delaying, postponing this crucial issue. They don’t wants to annoy the SC voters by replacing Charanjit Singh Channi at this stage. That message will go wrong in all ways.  But Sidhu keeps on asking his party high command to declare CM face.

“Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Jakhar together to lead Congress to victory in Punjab” had said party general secretary Randeep Surjewala in the first week of January 2022, to byepass the question raised by Sidhu.

Finally, the party annoyed Navjot Singh Sidhu but won the hearts of SC/ reserved category voters.
