Railway Board Members -Pathak as (Materials Mgmt),Kashinath (Signal & Telecom)

V.P. Pathak, Indian Railway Stores Service Officer of 1980 batchtook over as Member  (Materials Management) Railway Board on 16th April, 2019. Prior to joining this post, he had been working as Director General (RS), Railway Board since 12th June, 2018 and General Manager of  Chittaranjan Locomotive Works since December, 2016.

VP Pathak

Pathak graduated in Civil engineering with Honours from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad in 1979. During his career, Pathak has worked in different capacities in ER, NR, NCR, CORE, NER, NWR, RCF, DLW & CLW.

During his tenure as Director General (RS), Railway Board, Indian Railways achieved earnings of Rs. 4192 crores through Scrap disposal. This is an improvement of 33.4% over the previous year.

He has keen interest in high altitude trekking and music. He has completed Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2014

N.kashinath over as Member (Signal &Telecom) Railway Board

Kashinath took over as Member (Signal &Telecom) Railway Board on 16.04.2019. N. Kashinath belongs to the 1980 Batch of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) with his lien on Southern Railway.  Prior to this assignment, he was working as DG (Signal & Telecom), Railway Board since August, 2018.

He has graduated in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur.  After passing out in the year 1980, he worked for about 1½ years in National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) before joining the Railways in February, 1982.

He was associated with various projects like the Train Describer Project undertaken on Northern Railway, initial deployment of Optical Fibre Cable on various sections of Northeast Frontier Railway and also in the Survey for the Mobile Train Radio Communication (MTRC) Project using GSMR on Northeast Frontier Railway. In 2003, he was posted as Chief Signal Engineer (CSE) and Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer (Project) in Southern Railway, where he was associated with the 1st Train Protection Warning System (TPWS) Project of Indian Railway which was commissioned in 2008.

Thereafter, in July, 2010, he moved to Visakhapatnam as Divisional Railway Manager and in 2012 to South Eastern Railway/Kolkata as Chief Safety Officer.   Later he worked as Principal Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer on Metro Railway, Kolkata and Principal Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer on South Eastern Railway. He worked as Additional Member/Signal Railway Board in October, 2016 and subsequently, he was promoted as DG (S&T) in August, 2018.
