Rajpura in Patiala district notified as Buffer zone

District administration has notified Rajpura sub division as Buffer Zone. Now movement from Rajpura to Patiala has been restricted. 40 more samples were taken from Rajpura town today and their result will be declared by tomorrow.
Buffer zone is created 7 KM radius around the contained zone and movement is restricted in that area.The area can be revised, as per the requirements.
Yesterday 70 samples were taken and out of which 18 tested positive and rest tested negative. All the positive cases were shifted to Rajindra hospital for treatment. The health department has also started house to house screening in Rajpura .

Buffer Zone-Buffer Zone is an area around the containment zone, where new cases are likely to be appear. There will not be any perimeter control for the buffer zone.
Perimeter-Perimeter of the containment zone will be decided by the district administration, based on the criteria cited above. Clear entry and exit points will be established.
